The Recreation, Culture and Community Services Department is excited to share the Summer Session “A” and “B” recreation program offerings available this upcoming summer. Session “A” runs from July 5 to 30 with Session “B” running from August 3 to September 3. There is a variety of programs for all ages, stages and abilities that will help promote physical and mental wellbeing. The online Activity Guide is now available with all of the details for these sessions.
Registration will kick off Monday, June 21, 2021 at 8:30 a.m. for City Taxpayers and Thursday, June 24, 2021 for Non-City Taxpayers. Registration will be available online through the QSWC website and by telephone at 613-966-4632. In-person registration will not be available. Registration for both sessions is available.
Programs have been planned around existing provincial restrictions and with public health safety protocols in mind.
Summer Session “A” and “B” feature:
- Fitness classes offered in-person at local parks and through Zoom
- Children and youth programs offered in-person at local parks, St. Theresa field and through Zoom
- Swimming lessons , Aqua Fit and Advanced Aquatic Leadership programs offered at Kinsmen Community Outdoor Pool
- Fun on the Phone program for older adults offered in collaboration with the Belleville and Quinte West Community Health Centres and the Quinte West Public Library
- Free Speaker Series and Learn and Create programs offered through Zoom
The Summer Activities in the Park program for children ages 4-12 years is also available (registration began June 7, 2021). Children will enjoy games, crafts, and being active outdoors at a variety of City of Belleville parks. Each time slot is 2.5 hours and is limited to 10 children per timeslot for $15.00 each.
The online Activity Guide can be accessed through the website at qswc.ca. Clients can view the information online, print it out, contact the Recreation, Culture and Community Service Department at 613-966-4632 or email us to request a printed copy. Moving to an online platform has been necessary due to the ever changing situation with the COVID-19 pandemic. Changes can now be made in real time so that clients have the most up to date information and program offerings.
Registration in advance is required for all programs. Clients are encouraged to visit the QSWC.CA website for new COVID-19 safety protocols, entrance guidelines and frequently asked questions.
