BELLEVILLE – As the cooler weather has arrived and COVID-19 restrictions continue to call for physical distancing, the City of Belleville, in collaboration with Belleville and Quinte West Community Health Centre and the Quinte West Public Library are offering a new telephone based program for older adults (50+) to connect with others.
Social connection is important for people of all ages and the worry of isolation for the older adults in our communities has prompted these organizations to come together to offer a new program for all older adults to participate in; even if they do not have access to a computer or the internet. All that is required is a telephone. Upon registration, participants will be provided the phone number and code required to access the phone sessions being offered.
The program will start this month to ensure older adults will have the opportunity to connect with others over the holiday season and will continue on a weekly basis into 2021.
